Upcoming Research!

Our researchers have designated a period of time in March, and are preparing to meet via zoom!

Before our March meeting, we plan to contact more than 30 agencies over a 3 day period to ask some key questions. We will be gathering current research from the last seven years, along with what MTI already knows. This information will inform what we will ask in our surveys.

"What does MTI already know?".

MTI stands in a unique position in the life-arc of a missionary as they onramp and prepare for their departure. In our role, we are often able to help individuals identify possible needs that they will face. MTI also has the advantage of walking with, and hearing from, those who are returning from their assignments.

Our current barometer for their resilience (ability to bounce back) is informed by MTI’s years of experience and the focus of our staff on the needs of the missionary. We must steward this well!

We believe that now is the time to begin operationalizing research performed in the missiological world. We will partner it with our unique standing in the life-arc of cross-cultural workers, stewarding the knowledge that we gain from preparing and debriefing hundreds of missionaries.

In the next blog we will talk about our research areas for the coming research year.
