Research Cycle Begins!
As the research cycle for the John Powell Institute (JPI) begins, our researchers have been stewarding conversations with sending organizations around the country, hearing how God has been working and leading them to care for their cross-cultural workers. We discussed their varying successes, concerns, needs, experiences, and future goals in relation to collaboration.
JPI highly values the care of cross-cultural messengers because we recognize that their well-being is embedded in the mission of carrying the Gospel throughout the world. Healthy messengers are better equipped to bring life and longevity into the ministries of those around them as well as to their own mission.
This year, JPI is asking questions surrounding:
philosophy of care
development of care in agencies
partnering with care giving agencies
standardization of member care training
We are seeing a rising need for development of care in organizations. Overall, member care opportunities and experiences are increasing and more readily available than before, yet the arena of care within organizations is struggling to keep up.
We believe and hope for greater impact in the years ahead. JPI is realistic that without a change in both posture and architecture, member care will become more costly and stagnant, without providing the needed improvement in an individual’s overall well-being.
